Jeep tour to the Negev desert- Ein Akev spring

Departing from Jerusalem / Tel Aviv / Haifa.

After a few hours’ drive and a short break, we will start the day with a look out on the Halukim Hills from where we will be able to see the main Negev’s Mountains and Tzin Valley stretched among them. In ancient times the Israelites wandered here, in more recent times the Nabateans and Byzantines.

Following the ancient Nabataen road we will visit a Nabatean cistern, and hear how they store water in the desert.

We will then continue driving beside the impressive Tzinim cliff, until we reach Ein Akev spring (deep cool pool) which is fed by pure fossil waters that have been locked beneath the earth’s surface for thousands of years. (Refreshing swimming is optional.)

We’ll head back and visit in Sde Boker collage at David and Paula Ben Gurion’s graves site, enjoying a spectacular observation over the Zin Valley.

At the end of the tour we will visit the ruins of Avdat, the greatest Nabatean city in the Negev, a world heritage site as a part of the Nabatean incense route.
