4X4 to the Negev Desert: Ramon crater and Ein Akev spring


After a short break in Mitzpe Ramon we will start our tour to a lookout on the edge of the Ramon crater.

Offer breathtaking views over millions of years of geological evolution and unbelievable rock formations multi colored sandstone, volcanic rock and fossils.

Descending to the Ramon Crater, we will visit the Carpenter’s Workshop a unique rock formation that has been shaped by heat and pressure and resemble wood.

Proceed to Mount Gvanim and Nahal (Wadi) Ramon to Nahal (Wadi )Ardon, with is  impressive geological phenomenon called  “dikes” ( volcanic intrusions).

Drive to Sde Boker, visit David and Paula Ben Gurion’s graves site, enjoying a spectacular observation over the Zin Valley.

We will then continue driving beside the impressive Tzinim cliff, until we will reach Ein Akev spring (deep cool pool) which is fed by pure fossil waters that have been locked beneath the earth’s surface for thousands of years. (Refreshing swimming is optional.)
